The meeting will open with a presentation on what has been done so far (including the creation of the new RBF zone), ways that existing buildings and uses currently do not conform with zoning, and potential ways to make zoning better match what’s actually on the ground.
Next, we’ll explore the potential constraints to development at the O’Bannon Pond and Allin’s Cove sites, and some conceptual development scenarios (note: these secnarios are hypothetical based on existing regulations and will not reflect any actual development proposals).
We will then split into groups and discussyour prefernces.
Come with your ideas and your questions. The Town may not have all the answers, but you can help identify what more the Town needs to research!
Meet at the corner of Bay Spring Avenue and Washington Road for the Block Walk.
The Public Discussion will take place at the Bay Spring Community Center – 170 Narragansett Avenue.
Time: 1:45 PM – Block Walk 2:30 – 4:00 PM – Public Discussion
Parking: You may park on the street at Sweetbriar, where permitted, or the rear parking lot at 60 Bay Spring Avenue.
First, join town staff and the consultant team on a walk down Bay Spring Avenue. This is your chance to point out specific spots you love or would want to see improved or changed. Then join your neighbors at the Bay Spring Community Center to discuss what you want the Bay Spring corridor to be like in the future. Feel free to attend either or both as your time allows.
